Wheat: care in implanting the crop

To seek the best results of a crop we need to know the steps and processes involved, when we do not achieve the expected result it is necessary to investigate the causes. For this, we evaluate possible climatic variations, we analyze the position of the cultivar, management of fertilizers and / or crop protectors, as well as we need to be attentive to the execution of the processes. But to avoid potential problems with wheat, what should we do?

Recommended care:

To minimize any problems, some care is necessary during the whole planning and execution of wheat cultivation. It is important to carry out the positioning of the material according to the cycle of the chosen cultivar, ranging from super early to late. We need to be aware of the quality of the seed used - germination and vigor directly impact the initial establishment and the final plant population.
Still in the planning, it is important to determine the quantity of seeds distributed (according to the population indication for each cultivar) and to know the PMS of the lot used for the correct regulation of the sowing machine. Remembering, we must adjust the sowing machine before planting and when changing das. Nutritional management must be carried out according to the expected production of the crop, and monitoring for indications of the use of fungicides, herbicides and insecticides during cultivation is essential.

Time to plant, now what?

In the execution of the sowing we have two extremely important points: the depth and the sowing speed. According to tests carried out by Biotrigo, the seed must be deposited in the furrow with a depth between 3 and 4 cm, avoiding superficial sowing and problems in the contact of the seed with the soil, or very deep, making difficult the seed emergence and the uniformity of the initial establishment of the crop.
Speed: another essential factor! In the tests carried out, the increase in sowing speed with variations between 2.9 to 19.5 k / h, resulted in a decrease in the final plant population. Therefore, it is important to combine efficiency and speed at the time of planting, between 4 and 6 km / h the speed considered ideal, very low speeds hinder operating performance.

Conclusion

The productive potential of a crop is built by the sum of actions throughout its planning and execution. The implantation of the crop directly impacts the expectation of crop productivity. We need to be aware.
